UNIVERSAL
GYM EQUIPMENT COUNTERBALANCED 0-5° ADJUSTABLE SMITH MACHINE
Universal introduced the world's first counterbalanced Smith machine
with a special, patent pending angle adjustment mechanism that lets users
adjust the uprights for a traditional 0 degree lifting plane and/or a
5 degree lifting angle.
Design considerations for the machine included lifting technique,
range of motion and proper isolation of the muscle
groups. The result is a smooth, controlled motion that enables users to
focus on the weight and movement.
The multi-purpose Smith machine offers a variety of exercises,
including incline, decline and flat bench press, shoulder press, squats
and lunges.
The 7' (2 m) Olympic lifting bar is counterbalanced to a starting
weight of approximately 10 lbs. (5 kg).
Twelve racking pegs in 6" (15 cm) increments with adjustable
safety stop accommodate a wide range of users.
Unique pivot bar catch assembly provides easy bar racking and eliminates
runner guide flex.
Six plate storage pegs provide a self-contained unit.
Open frame allows easy access from either side.
